More than 16 months after being proposed, the ordinances to permit industrial solar in Clark County's agricultural zone have been denied. The Fiscal Court agreed with Clark Coalition's recommendation to implement a moratorium on industrial solar development until the issue could be addressed in next year's Comprehensive Plan.

The survey – which ran from March 13th to May 27th – measured the sentiment of local residents on different types of solar facilities.

The long-awaited Public Hearing on Industrial Solar will take place Tuesday May 25th

After conducting several closed work-sessions, the Planning Commission has finalized an industrial solar ordinance to present at an upcoming public hearing— likely to occur sometime this spring.

Clark Coalition has partnered with renowned urban design firm Lord Aeck Sargent to produce a study of under-utilized and vacant land in Winchester. The study will illustrate patterns and opportunities for infill redevelopment.

In early January 2021, we incorporated the Clark Coalition Foundation – an affiliated organization to Clark Coalition, Inc. – which will serve to support our mission to advance smart growth, sustainable economic development and government transparency in Winchester and Clark County.
